Additionally, children can participate in self-monitoring and receive short reward videos contingent upon achieving high accuracy levels.

Word selection within the app emphasizes complex consonant clusters with consideration of phonetic development. For example, words containing /skw-/ such as “squad,” “squeaky,” and “squeeze” were selected, intentionally excluding words like “square” or “squabble,” where final sounds may detract from focusing on initial cluster articulation. Similarly, phrases and sentences are crafted to incorporate early-developing sounds surrounding the target clusters—examples include “white floppy hat,” which emphasizes the /fl-/ cluster amidst surrounding sounds like /w t p h/, and “We took a flight to Maine,” providing contextual facilitation.
